This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use ZipUnzip Archiver ("the App"), an archive utility for Mac.

In short: the App collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics and no advertising. It has no network permission at all, so it is not capable of sending anything anywhere — this is not a promise about what we choose to collect, but a limit on what the App is able to do.

1. Your files

Archives are opened, browsed, extracted and created entirely on your own Mac. No file, no filename, and no part of any file is uploaded anywhere. Nothing you open is examined, indexed or reported.

The App runs inside Apple's sandbox. It can read and write only the files and folders you point it at — by dropping them on the window, choosing them in an open panel, selecting them in Finder, or picking a destination folder. It has no access to the rest of your disk.

2. Information stored on your Mac

The App remembers one preference: where you asked extracted files to be saved. It is stored in the App's own settings on your Mac and is sent nowhere. Removing the App removes it.

There is nothing else. No history of archives you have opened, no list of file names, no usage record.

3. Passwords

When you type a password to open an encrypted archive, or to protect one you are creating, it is used for that operation and then discarded. It is never written to disk, never saved in your keychain, and never leaves your Mac. Closing the archive forgets it.

4. No advertising and no tracking

The App contains no advertising software, no analytics framework and no tracking of any kind. It does not use an advertising identifier. Because it has no network access, there is no third party receiving anything about you.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your information, because we do not collect any. There is no third party involved in the App's operation at all.

6. Retention and deletion

Since the App stores only a single preference, and only on your own Mac, there is nothing held anywhere for us to retain or delete. Removing the App deletes it. We operate no servers and hold no accounts, so there is no database of user information that could be exposed.

7. Children

The App is a general-purpose file utility suitable for all ages. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.

8. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always available here, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised Policy.

ZipUnzip Archiver is an independent application. RAR is a trademark of Alexander Roshal. 7-Zip is the work of Igor Pavlov. All other product names are the property of their respective owners and are named only to describe the file formats the App reads.
